Roller Coasters

We are currently working on a project in science to learn about the physics behind how roller coasters work.  Over the last several weeks, we have been studying and learning about the types of energy needed for a roller coaster to operate.  The students are beginning construction on a roller coaster of their own made out of plastic tubing and other materials that they will provide.  When finished, they will test their coaster by running a ball bearing through their tube to see if it has enough potential energy turning into kinetic energy to make it all the way through the tube.  They are required to show where 9 key terms are happening on their coaster.  The students are currently working on a blueprint of what they would like their coaster to look like.  We begin construction tomorrow!  It will be awesome!  Videos to come later.
